About Us

Faith Lutheran Church, Stephenville, was formed in 1962 as part of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, a church body with 2.6 million members and partner national churches throughout the world. The LC-MS was formed in 1847 south of St. Louis, Missouri by German immigrants seeking freedom from the errant doctrines of the national church in their homeland. We desire to continue to teach the pure saving Gospel of Jesus Christ

“And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Jesus Christ.”            Philippians 4:19

God our heavenly Father, who created us also has provided a way that we may have our deepest needs met by restoring our relationship with Him and with one another. He loves us and cares for us, that we may be His joyful and confident children.

Jesus Christ, God in human form, was born on Christmas Day, suffered humiliation and death on good Friday, and arose from the grave on Easter Sunday. By His life and death He fulfilled the law we could not keep and paid the penalty that our sins deserved.

The Holy Spirit moved men to write the Holy Bible, the inerrant Word of God. Through this Word, he brings us to accept by faith the saving work which Jesus did for us. It is by faith only, and not by what we do, that we have forgiveness of sins, eternal life and salvation.

God provides for us the sacrament of Holy Baptism as a way to claim each of us individually into his family. He gives us the sacrament of Holy Communion to strengthen our faith and give us assurance of his mercy.

Our Savior has established his Church to be a fellowship in which his followers can be encouraged in their faith, learn to grow through His Word, and to meet our needs for relationship with Him and with other people.
